We are pleased to announce the winners and runners up for our children's colouring competition. It's never too early to start building safety together and we are delighted by the engagement with the competition. Well done to all the children who took part in our Rail Safety Week 2024 Children's Competitions and congratulations to all our winners!
A big thank you to Bessie Matthews, who kindly provided the colouring competition artwork. Bessie is the author and illustrator of Arlo's Adventures and is a fantastic role model in the industry for inspiring young people to interact safely with the railway.

Age 4 Winner

The judges liked how eye catching the colouring is and the addition of the sun in the sky.
Ages 5-6 Winners
1st Place: Jessica
The simpleness and style of colouring stands out as well as the attention to detail.
2nd Place: Katrina
Our judges liked the vibrant and bold colouring - a neutral train with background additions plus the detail on the outfit and grass.
3rd Place: Parker
The colour use and attention to detail with the ballast stood out for the judges.
Ages 7-8 Winners
1st Place: Emma
Our judges admired the attention to detail and great use of felt tip pens. The colours stand out and the colouring of the leaves.
2nd Place: Nina
The safety messaging on the yellow line - 'Warning do not cross', the added passengers and train driver, plus the use of shadow is fantastic.
3rd Place: Emilia
Our judges liked the safety yellow line, the use of shadow, how neat the colouring is and the freckles which give character.

Crossword Winner
Our final announcement is the winner of our Crossword competition which was designed for children aged 8-11.
We had a brilliant response to the Crossword and all correctly completed submissions were entered into a draw.
