Community Rail Network
Community Rail Network have a packed programme of rail safety activity lined up throughout Rail Safety Week 2026, taking safety education out into local communities across the country.
On 16th June, a rail safety session will be taking place for a Home Education group from Fitzwilliam, hosted at their local community centre — a brilliant example of rail safety education reaching beyond the classroom.
On 17th June (10:00–11:00), the Rail Education Network will be showcasing Network Rail’s brand new Switched On Rail Safety resources, timed ahead of the September curriculum change. Open to anyone with an interest in education across the rail industry, the session will also be filmed for those unable to attend on the day. On 18th June, a rail safety session will be delivered to an adult community group at the Bradford City Foundation, demonstrating the importance of reaching diverse audiences with safety messaging.
Rounding off the week on 19th June, pupils from Greenhill School in Bramley will be heading into Leeds by train, putting their rail safety learning into practice out on the network first-hand.
