‘Railway Work, Life & Death’ Project
Ahead of Rail Safety Week, the team behind the Railway Work, Life & Death project will be hosting an event to launch their project data at The National Archives in London.
The new dataset will add an additional c.69,000 historic cases of railway staff accident to the project database. They come from railway company records, covering 1855-1929. This doubles the size of the project database, and is full of fascinating insight into work on the railway in the past, and of course railway employee safety.
As well as the full data launch, they will also be holding a subsidiary launch (supported by TfW) in Llanelli, on Monday 23 June.

C&G Systems
As Rail Safety Week gets underway, C&G Systems reaffirms its commitment to supporting a safer, more efficient railway across the UK. Safety is not a slogan- it’s built into everything we do, from frontline fatigue management to digital possession planning.
- Smarter authority to work
Our Checkpoint Authority to Work app brings control and clarity to worksite operations. By enabling all authorised personnel to begin work at the same time, the app reduces delays, ensures compliance, and provides real-time verification of safety competencies. It’s a simple solution with significant safety impact. - Planning that drives safe delivery
Checkpoint PDP (Project Delivery Planning) gives rail contractors full visibility of progress, cost, and resource use- before, during and after delivery. With real-time updates and detailed reporting, project teams can plan and control works with greater accuracy, while staying compliant with safety standards at every step. - Fatigue management that fits
We understand that managing fatigue isn’t just a compliance exercise- it’s a safety-critical responsibility. Our Network Rail and RISQS-compliant fatigue management tool offers SMEs an affordable, effective solution, with licences starting from just £3,000 per year. Designed to reduce risk without complexity, it helps teams protect their people while staying on budget. - Possession planning with real-world experience
With over two decades of experience, our possession planners have supported some of Scotland’s most complex rail projects. We interrogate every plan in detail- checking access, train movements, conflicting works and more, before any submission is made. It’s this attention to detail that helps our clients deliver safely and on time. - Built by railway people
Our team brings over 100 years of combined rail operational knowledge, with backgrounds in Network Rail, Siemens and Babcock. We know the challenges because we’ve worked in the roles that face them, trackside, in planning rooms, and on control calls. That insight shapes every system we design and every service we deliver. - Working together to improve safety
This Rail Safety Week, we’re proud to stand alongside contractors, operators and planners in making the UK’s railway safer for all.

Condor Pressure Control GmbH
Rail Safety Week UK is a timely reminder of the critical role safety components play in preventing rail disasters.
Incidents like the derailment in Ohio (2023), the Lac-Megantic tragedy in Quebec (2013), and the Uttar Pradesh accident in India (2013) highlight the devastating consequences of brake system failures.
In Europe alone, equipment failures, including those related to braking systems, contribute to around 25% of all train derailments. While brakes may not be the most frequent cause, they are often a factor in the most serious accidents.
That’s why continuous innovation, strict safety regulations, and the careful selection of high-performance components, like pressure switches, are vital to ensuring safe railway operations.

Ikon Training
This week, we stand with the rail staff who face abuse, disruption and risk every day while keeping our transport system running. Safety starts with people. They deserve to feel supported.
From early warning signs to practical de-escalation and personal safety strategies, our courses give teams the confidence to stay safe and manage challenging behaviour before it escalates.

Incremental Solutions Limited
Rail Safety Week 2025 is all about making railways safer- and so are we.
We will be at Rail Live 2025 (18–19 June) during Rail Safety Week 2025 – perfectly timed as we’ll be showcasing how our innovative digital tools help keep passengers, staff, and services safer every day, courtesy of our smart rail-tech. Join us in the Railway Industry Association’s lounge at M99, Table N to learn more.
Here’s a flavour of how our tech makes a difference:
-RAPPORT – Real-time incident management software that gives frontline teams and control rooms instant visibility during incidents. Faster response. Single source of truth. Real-time data. Safer outcomes.
-AEGIS – Advanced GPS-based performance analytics that give operators precise insights into train movement and identify risk-prone areas, helping to prevent delays and accidents.
-OLErt – Continuous overhead line monitoring that flags wear, pan flips, and vegetation risks in real time – preventing dewirements and costly safety incidents before they happen.
Because better data in real-time leads to better decisions, smother journeys, and safer railways. We hope to see you at Rail Live 2025 during Rail Safety week!

Infopoint Ltd.
As we mark Rail Safety Week, our commitment to safer journeys goes beyond the rail platform. Passenger safety doesn’t end when the train stops—it extends to every step of onward travel.

Our solutions empower passengers with direct access to assistance and secure, well-coordinated transport options for their next destination. Our help point units can also accommodate emergency service telephone numbers, along with support lines such as Samaritans, Mind and many more.
Let’s work together to ensure every journey is safe, seamless, and supported from platform to doorstep. If your station or business is looking to enhance passenger safety and experience, contact us to learn how our help points and taxi management can make a difference.

Infotec
The important role that passenger information systems play in rail safety might not be immediately obvious, but during Rail Safety Week 2025 Infotec plans to highlight some examples.
The information provided to passengers on displays, the details included, when and for how long those details are visible, legibility, and the location of the hardware in and around stations all contribute.
Overcrowding on concourses and platforms pose a significant risk to passenger safety. Infotec’s displays are designed to prevent that and to make wayfinding as straightforward as possible.

SEMP
Safety doesn’t happen by accident.
Rail safety starts long before the first train runs. Through a systems approach, we embed safety from Day 1, ensuring every component, process and interface is designed with risk in mind. From concept to operation, safety is a core requirement.
But designing for safety isn’t just about preventing accidents. It’s also about creating a system that’s easier to operate, manage, and maintain. This positively impacts not only the riding public, but operators, maintainers, and anyone in proximity to rail operations who could be affected by hazards ranging from objects coming loose from trains and toxic fumes from fires to electromagnetic radiation/interference.
As an added bonus, designing for safety by taking a holistic view of the rail system will also reduce risk, lower costs over time, and lead to a more reliable and efficient rail service.

It might seem silly and like a waste of time to some, however mental health struggles can affect anyone at any time and research shows that taking regular breaks improves productivity, reduces stress levels, enhances creativity, and improves our physical health.
With this in mind, we decided to take some time out of our day to have some fun and most importantly get people talking by having everyone bring in a picture of themselves when they were young and guessing who was in each picture!

According to the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), the number of reported HAVS cases in rail rose by more than 50% last year. This highlights the urgent need for better protection across the industry.
That’s why at Sixis Technology, we’re proud to support the rail sector with HAVSPRO — giving teams a simpler, smarter way to measure & monitor vibration exposure in real time, identify risks early, and reduce admin burdens.

The Mental Wealth Company
Mental Wealth Café
As part of Rail Forum’s Rail Safety Week, The Mental Wealth Company (TMWC) is proud to bring the Mental Wealth Café to Rail Live — promoting wellbeing at the heart of rail safety.
The Mental Wealth Café is TMWC’s way of supporting individuals and teams with their wider wellbeing and the co-creation of a community that is all about supporting one another in a safe space, to discuss challenges and stressors and ways in which we can all help one another show up authentically and safely.
During Rail Safety Week, we are focussing our attention on the principles of Psychological Safety (PS) and Non-Technical Skills (NTS).
Why? Well, Network Rail’s Health and Safety Vision states: “Everybody has a responsibility to behave safely and challenge unsafe behaviours and conditions when we see them”. This responsibility can only be carried out within a culture that enables and encourages this, i.e. a culture underpinned by Psychological Safety.
Non-Technical Skills are the social, cognitive and personal skills that can enhance the way you or your staff carry out technical skills, tasks and procedures. Good use of non-technical skills in the operational environment have been shown to be important in reducing operational risk and improving performance.
Throughout the café sessions each lunch time we will lead an open debate on the importance of both PS and NTS, helping those new to these topics understand why they are so important, and to learn from leaders and practitioners of PS/NTS in relation to how to nurture the right culture, develop and maintain the skills importantly, how to challenge negative habits that can evolve over time.
These sessions will be chaired by TMWC’s MD and Founder, Wendy McCristal, and Lucy Prior MBE, Strategic Growth Director.
Where and when?
Wednesday 18th June:
12:15 – 13:30, Safety Theatre, W50
- Meet Wendy McCristal and Lucy Prior MBE at our Mental Wealth Cafe: an open forum, but safe space where we will be discussing Psychological Safety: what it is, why it’s important, how it drives safety, productivity and innovation.

In high-risk environments, improving worker safety isn’t just about reactive measures; it’s about building a strong and effective safety culture where the workforce can feel safe during their shifts.
In some parts of the world within the rail industry, there’s a growing recognition of the role that digital control of work systems can play in this effort. (Nexxiot)
By enabling better risk assessment and mitigation, isolations and clear and concise permitting, digital solutions can help ensure that frontline teams operate with full visibility, up-to-date information, and compliance at every step of operations.
As infrastructures modernise and expand, the need to have systems that protect the workers who maintain and operate it will be key.
Proactive safety management isn’t just a goal; it’s a necessity for every rail organisation committed to getting its workforce home safely, every day.
Yokogawa RAP Ltd is pleased to support , as we remain committed towards enhancing safety for the railway workforce.

Yorkshire Coast Community Rail Partnership
On Monday evening we took a group of Beavers from 2nd Driffield Scout Group on a rail safety trip to Bridlington. The children learned how to use a train safely and enjoyed doing our activity sheet on the journey.
At Bridlington station we talked to them about our barrow boy statue and tiled map, then BTP officer Dan chatted to them about the rail safety. This experience will help them to earn their platform for change badges and they are also getting special Railway 200 badges made!

Zonegreen
As we mark Rail Safety Week, it’s a timely reminder that the systems protecting our depot teams are just as vital as the infrastructure that moves our trains.
Recent developments in the supply chain have introduced uncertainty for some operators relying on depot safety systems. In these situations, the risk isn’t just operational—it’s personal.
At Zonegreen, we believe no team should be left exposed. That’s why our engineers are ready to step in and support depots that need servicing expertise, safety assurance, or contingency planning, regardless of the original system manufacturer.
Our goal is simple: to help every depot maintain a safe, compliant, and resilient environment for their people.
