Friday marked our half year Stand Down Meeting which was a great success, and we are thrilled to share some key highlights and reflections!

Taking Time to Pause and Connect
In today’s fast-paced world, it’s crucial to occasionally step back and take stock of where we are. Our stand down meeting provided just that—a moment to pause, connect, and align our efforts across the entire company.

Celebrating Achievements
We kicked off by celebrating our recent milestones and the incredible work each member of the team has put in. From groundbreaking projects to everyday wins, our collective achievements over the past 6 months have been truly inspiring.

Understanding Alcohol Units
One of the highlights was our hands-on activity where we identified how many units of alcohol are in popular drinks. This exercise gave us a clear perspective on how seemingly small amounts can add up quickly, emphasising the importance of knowing what we consume.

Experiencing Impairment with “Beer Goggles”
To drive home the effects of alcohol on coordination and judgment, we donned “beer goggles” and attempted to dribble a football. This fun yet challenging activity underscored how alcohol impairs even basic motor skills, reinforcing the message that safety and alcohol don’t mix.

Looking Ahead
As we move forward, let’s carry the momentum from our discussions into our daily work. The shared vision and commitment we witnessed during the stand down are the driving forces behind our ongoing success.
