Network Rail’s Chief Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer, Rupert Lown will be presenting on the ‘CP6 Reflections and CP7 Priorities’ at Rail Forum’s Rail Safety Week Conference on 26 June in Manchester.
Network Rail will be running a variety of Stations events, including:
- Monday 24th June – Manchester Piccadilly (10:00 – 15:00)
- Tuesday 25th June – London Euston (10:00 – 15:00)
- Friday 28th June – Birmingham New Street (07:00 – 23:00)
On 26th June between 10:00 – 16:00 at Doncaster Race Course Garden Suite, Network Rail Technical Authority Corporate Safety Team in collaboration with the ISLG are hosting a Slips, trips and Falls event at the Hilton Garden Inn- Doncaster Race course- Garden suite. The day comprises of a series of presentations and discussions on Why we slip and trip, fatigue, correct footwear fitting, industry stats and data, learnings from interventions on team coaching and a slips trips and falls programme undertaken by Colas rail. The presenters are from RSSB, Network Rail, Steitz Secura footwear, Benchmark Training, Human Applications and Colas Rail.
Network Rail attended a joint session led by CEMEX in Doncaster involving the Freight Operating Companies and Network Rail. This was an opportunity to share learning from freight safety incidents as well as talk about safety initiatives at sector level.
Following this session we conducted a joint safety tour in Doncaster Yard led by GBRf, this was an opportunity to talk to staff about Rail Safety Week and to hear about any safety concerns.
