We’re supporting Rail Safety Week again this year. After the successful focus on train activity last year we’re moving our focus to stations.

This year we are undertaking a series of roadshows covering all 14 of our stations. During the roadshows our Executive Team and senior management from across the business, supported by the Safety and Environment Team will be positioned to meet colleagues and talk to them about Safety. Other managers will be undertaking walkabouts at the same time, speaking to colleagues about issues as they appear.

During the week competent managers will be undertaking deep dive safety inspections to identify hazards and take forward action plans with station management teams to deliver on solutions.

All through the week every manager will collate and provide feedback on their visit via MS forms to the S&E Team so that we can take forward good ideas and fix problems, providing teams with a “you said, we did” update in the weeks and months after RSW 2024. The week will be supported by a competition to award great ideas to improve safety with a prize.
