‘Railway Work, Life & Death’ Project

‘Railway Work, Life & Death’ Project

Ahead of Rail Safety Week, the team behind the Railway Work, Life & Death project will be hosting an event to launch their project data at The National Archives in London.

The new dataset will add an additional c.69,000 historic cases of railway staff accident to the project database. They come from railway company records, covering 1855-1929. This doubles the size of the project database, and is full of fascinating insight into work on the railway in the past, and of course railway employee safety.

As well as the full data launch, they will also be holding a subsidiary launch (supported by TfW) in Llanelli, on Monday 23 June.
